I am sad that “Valentino: The Last Emperor” doesn’t appear to be coming to the Twin Cities anytime soon. To tide me over until it does on Netflix, I am posting a few of my favorite photos from “Valentino: Themes and Variations.” This book is a designer’s dream. It not only has detailed mannequin shots, but also original magazine photos, sketches, and behind the scene snapshots. I haven’t been too impressed with the collections since he has left, even if rumor has it he was still designing them. It is interesting to see the span of his work over the decades and how they have evolved, yet still remain timeless.
